There is no guide on how to be a parent… or is there?

Your daily life is full. Between games, laundry, chores, and meal preparation, there is little time left to create opportunities that will help your child develop necessary communication skills.

This is where parent coaching comes in. I'm here to show you how everyday activities can easily be turned into opportunities to enhance communication. Let me guide you, in a practical and supportive way, on how to support your child's development and communication!

What is parent coaching?

Parent coaching is based on personalized, one-on-one sessions — with me, as an expert in child development and communication.

Through these sessions you acquire practical strategies and tools that help you strengthen your child's communication.

You will receive creative ways to enhance speech and language development, through activities that are already part of your family's daily routine.

Through parent coaching, you will be able to help your child...

use gestures, vocal expressions and/or words to communicate

to learn new words and enrich their vocabulary (nouns, verbs, adjectives, etc.).

to better understand what you say to them, such as following simple instructions in everyday life.

use longer phrases and sentences when speaking.

develop play skills, such as looking at others, waiting their turn, and playing more meaningfully with those around them.

What does support for parents include?

Simple developmental guidelines, so you know what is normal for your child's age.

Activity sheets that guide you with specific words and phrases so you know what to reinforce through one or more daily activities.

Practical strategies that you can implement throughout the day to enhance meaningful and targeted interactions with your child.

Is there a difference between Parent Coaching and Speech Therapy?

The short answer is: yes. These are two different forms of support, each with a different goal and role.

Speech Therapy

  • Addresses the child directly

  • Provides structured and intensive sessions to address speech and/or language difficulties

  • Usually takes place 1–2 times a week

  • Has a duration depending on the child's needs and progress.

  • Is geared towards children with a diagnosis or clear indication of a speech/language disorder

Parent Coaching

  • Intended for parents and/or caregivers

  • Focuses on educating and guiding parents

  • Provides practical strategies based on child development and speech therapy

  • The goal is for parents to be able to support their child's communication in everyday life.

  • It can benefit all children, with or without a diagnosis

Speech therapy and parent coaching do not replace each other — they are implemented together.
